CSER - Computer Science Education Research Group
The Computer Science Education Research (CSER) group is interested in all aspects of CS Education including:
First Year Experience,
Large Group Teaching,
Novel Teaching Techniques,
Retention and Recruitment.
Our goal is to enable ourselves and other interested researchers to embrace and improve their educational research methods and raise expectations and understanding of the importance of this type of research within the greater computing community.
The Computer Science Education Research Group hold regular meetings where we design and discuss research projects related to current activities in CS education.
Smart Cities Research Group
This research pursues applied research activities in partnership with other R&D centres, companies and municipal and regional authorities aiming at testing, applying and deploying technological solution on the framework of intelligent systems, to the improvement of the populations living quality and skills improvement. Some interventions may include: Environmental monitoring systems, Social and behaviour information and collecting systems, Urban and industrial control and forecasting dynamical models; Analytical decision support systems, intelligent power grids, Renewable energy sources integration and optimization, Power sustainability and Environmental impact reduction.
